A survey of senior mining professionals across 57 countries, conducted for data enablement software company, WCKD RZR, and mining executive search and recruitment consultants, Stratum International, shows poor and haphazard take-up of digital technology and data strategies. Nearly four out of five respondents (77%) thought mining CEOs had failed to make provision for a digital strategy. More than one in three thought that while most CEO's acknowledge the importance of data, few had implemented data analytics' strategies.

WCKD RZR, the pioneering Data Enablement software startup, has forged a key technology partnership with leading Data Intelligence firm, Collibra. The new agreement will provide customers of both businesses with a seamlessly integrated global data technology solution, accelerating data discovery and streamlining data mapping and cataloguing through machine learning. WCKD RZR’s Data Enablement software, Data Watchdog unlocks the potential of any multinational organisation’s data by allowing them to find, govern and access data in each country, in real time, fully compliant with relevant data sharing, privacy and governance rules. The Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud is a single system of engagement that unifies data governance, data privacy, data catalogue, data lineage and data quality.
What is Data Enablement Software?
There has been a common narrative for years that says: ‘in order to understand and make use of our data we need to put it in one place so that people can make use of it for their business processes.’ Some describe these as their “use cases”. Perhaps this is a slightly improved situation than before because businesses normally store their data in numerous technology silos, and vendor lock-in is common. The theory, therefore, makes sense. Move it to a new silo, or system, and everything will be accessible and useable.
